Mira is a star, literally. She fell in love with Earth's beauty and descended as a human due to the whims of some unknown power. The first human she met was Sophie.
Because she is still a little new to Earth, she (despite her best efforts and deep love for them) does not always understand or comply with the rules of our human society. From big things like courts of law, war, and nuclear weapons to more trivial and everyday things like a TV remote, crosswalk signs, and gear levers, she has much to learn.
When it comes to love and relationships, she enjoys watching dramas and romcoms with Sophie's mom, but hasn't thought about it in relation to herself very much. Her favorite holiday is Valentine's Day, because she has a taste for sweets ★

The sole daughter to a (less than orthodox) single mother, Sophie grew up as kind of a "wild child", with her mom holding a very loose leash on her. Luckily for her mom, she never developed a taste for drinking or smoking and instead takes to cutting classes and staying up all night to watch the stars. With an intense passion for astronomy, her biggest dream since she can remember is to go into outer space.
Despite being an avid astronomy lover, she's never really entertained the idea of aliens, so when she meets Mira, it's both exciting and a bit frightening at the same time. She hopes to learn more about where Mira came from.
Both of them struggle to find their place, Mira due to her unique circumstances and Sophie due to being a bit standoffish in her own way. Naturally, the two gravitate towards each other, and try to make meaning of their lives and their world together.
Mira tends to be the more aggressive one, as Sophie can turn tomato red at the thought of kissing or holding hands — not that she minds, since she finds it fun to chase after her. Mira, having been given Sophie's mother's blessing, is hopeful that she can be with Sophie forever: a sentiment that Sophie echoes, albeit a little more shyly.
Their story is currently a WIP and is meant for the Lilies volume 2: Stargazer. Because I am a sucker for cheesy stories, this might end up extremely corny, but please bear with me.
Having given birth to Sophie after a drunken one night stand led to an unplanned pregnancy, her initial plan of putting Sophie up for adoption was cast aside upon holding her for the first time. She decided to raise her alone, despite the protests from her parents and the complete absence of support from the so-called father; after obtaining a monthly child support from him in return for allowing him to remain absent in Sophie's life, Yoko worked like hell to be able to provide a life for her. Now that Sophie's nearly going off to college, she feels that she is able to breathe a little more.
Despite the initial surprise at realizing that her daughter was gay, Yoko doesn't really seem to care or even mind it very much, and has (after careful deliberation) given Mira her full blessing, and though she hasn't told either her or Sophie yet, she is fully prepared to when the day comes.
Her current occupation is a massage therapist.
